Meet Becky Hogg from Becky Hogg Embroidery

Becky Hogg, a seasoned hand embroiderer, is set to conduct a workshop on her Kingfisher kit at the London Embroidery School on April 27th from 10:03am – 4:30pm. Her embroidery journey commenced during her early 20s at Loughborough Art College, culminating in a textile degree. She deepened her comprehension of historical textiles and embroidery via a three-year apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace.

The acquired skills and expertise significantly influence her present work. With over twenty years of professional practice, Becky has refined her expertise in metal thread embroidery, also known as Goldwork. The texture, jewelry-like finishes, and sparkle of Goldwork provide continual inspiration for her creations. She is committed to preserving traditional Goldwork stitches and threads, simultaneously reinterpreting old techniques to maintain the modern relevance of her designs. Her stitches are brought to life using design shapes, padding, color, and pattern, thereby enhancing the final product.

The embroidery kits she produces are suited for stitchers of all levels, resulting from meticulously planned design, packaging, production, and supply processes. Her kits are available through various retailers, including the V&A Museum, The Royal School of Needlework, and Lemmikko in Tokyo. Moreover, she has built a substantial global client base through her online shop. Becky Hogg’s primary goal is to impart the pleasure of this skilled craft in a manner that is both enjoyable and rewarding.

We are excited to have Becky at our school on April 27th! If you haven’t secured your spot yet, don’t worry, there are still a few seats available. Hurry and click the link to be part of this amazing class! Metal Thread Kingfish Class with Becky Hogg
