Limerick Lace Fills

The limerick lace class can be considered to be one of the more technically challenging needlework classes we run as the designs are created using the structure of the tuelle itself and the fills can be very complicated.

During the class we introduce you to how to create the outlines used for this technique and a few fill designs to get you started but there are hundreds of acknowledged limerick lace fills as well as the ones that you can make up as you go along. The options are endless.

Our intern Elsie took the limerick lace class and has been playing around with the technique since, trying out new fills and designs using the limerick lace principals and plenty of patience.

These are a few images of the fill effects she has achieved. To give you an idea of scale, none of these samples are any bigger than about 2x2cm. I think you will agree that they are so cute!

If you would like to join us for the next Limerick Lace class, it will be taking place on Wednesday 21st November 6.30-8.30pm
