Tambour handles are such as great tool, with their turned wood bodies holding the potential to create all manner of beautiful beading. However, what you may not have realised about yours is that if you are only tambouring with your handle, you are not using it to its full potential.

As you may have noticed, your handle came with a medium weight hook in it, which you can easily switch out for a more appropriate weight hook to the design using the screw at the top. But what if you didnt put a hook in it at all?

The handle can also be used as a pricker for your prick and pounce design transfer when preparing your embroidery. This can be done we a loose needle or pin, but I’m sure for anyone who has tried to do anything larger than a small design holding onto a pin or needle like that can make your hand cramp pretty fast! Simply by fitting the needle into the tambour handle, you have a much more comforable tool to hold to complete the task using a tool you probably already have. A win win in our books
