Introduction to Stumpwork Trailing Rose Online Class
£15.00
In this class we will show you how to bring your stitches up off the fabric as we take you through 3 of the basic raised stitches we have combined into this beautiful trailing rose design. Suitable for any item you want to adorn with roses we will first take you through a quick drawing exercise to show you how to apply the design to your item of choice. Once settled on the design we will work on a whipped back stitch, woven picot thorns/leaves and cast on roses.
As an introductory class to the technique of Stumpwork, it is best suited to those with a little basic experience of stitching in general but you do not need to have attempted any raised stitching before to join in. There is no need to wait for or purchase a kit to go alongside it, however you will need to gather a few very basic embroidery materials and pieces of equipment and you will be good to get started right away.

We think this technique is wonderful for adding some extra detail to items that could benefit from a little attention: think about hankies, ties, scarves or a napkin/tablecloth or pillowcase set. Alternatively you could use it as a repair technique to cover over a damaged area of a garment like an ink stained shirt cuff, pocket on jeans or a tatty hem. The options are endless.
Once purchased, the link to the class will be delivered to your email, taking you directly to the full class. You can watch the video as many times as you like, at your own convenience, in the comfort of your home.
