Course Outline:
In this intensive workshop will take you through 4 goldwork techniques and two raising techniques.

To start we will show you how to prepare your artwork for goldwork embroidery with the traditional prick and pounce technique. After this preparation, you will be shown edging stitches with Pearle Purl and be filling this area with bright check chips.

Later we will teach you your first raising technique, “Pad Raising”. After edging your area (which you will of course mastered by now!) you will cover this pad raising with “couched” Japanese threads.

Finally, we will teach you the most difficult of the techniques Bump Raisings and cutwork. After preparing and edging your area you will be taught how to fill the area with graduated bump raising and then instructed in cutwork.

Please remember although you will be learning in a mixed level group and your class is tailored specifically to your progress.

“Take away equipment” price including  (10” clamp frame, mellor & embroidery wax) that you can take home after the class.
