A funny looking little tool, specially designed for goldwork purposes. The round end is great for smoothing wide curves and gently pressing bullion into place. The narrow end comes to a smooth but blunt point without any sharp edges so you can use it as a laying tool to place down cutwork purls without bruising or distorting them. 

Made of brass coloured metal and engraved with our crossed leaves logo on one side, it features a small hole should you wish to add a hanging loop to your mellor. Can also be used with silks and floss  as a laying tool when not working on goldwork.

    I enjoyed using this mellor in my recent Goldwork project. It fits nicely in my hand, helps with gently curving pearl purls, with aligning my smooth purl threads, and working purls into tight areas.
