Course Outline:

The Silk Shading Course teaches the delicate art of silk shading from our RSN trained tutor. This technique, sometimes known as ‘painting in stitches’ allows you to create fades and colour changes through the body of the embroidery by working with multiple threads. This is particularly useful for natural forms such as flowers, fruit and animals which, once mastered, can give a very realistic effect to the embroidery.

Taught over 6 hours the course will provide a comprehensive introduction of the techniques used so that you can manipulate your skills to suit your own future projects. You will learn how to form long and short stitch for tapestry shading and how to apply your design onto your ground. Please note while this is a beginners class some experience with hand embroidery will be advantageous as this is an advanced embroidery technique.

All material & equipment provided during the class .

“Take away equipment” price including  (10” clamp Frame, mellor & embroideyr wax) that you can take home after the class.

Don’t worry, you can also purchase equipments on the day after you change your mind!

Please book your course at least 1 week in advance, cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance and courses are not refundable.
