Texture is the order of the day in our Knotted Landscape Online Class and Kit.

Working in knotted embroidery stitches this class uses a variety of surfaces to create this mountain scene landscape design. We will explore the differences between the traditional French knot and its counterparts the colonial and Chinese knots. We will try these stitches at different scales and with different materials to test the variations in the effects we can create. Later we will look at some of the other things we can do to a French knot to make it into a loop, turn it into a pistil stitch or finally a bullion knot. The kit includes all the materials needed to complete the artwork which is taught over the course of 3 online classes.

Suitable for those who have some basic embroidery experience and equipment but have not necessarily tried knotted stitches before. You will come away from the class with a clear understanding of the differences between the knotted stitches and the effect of stranded cotton, pearl cotton, yarn and ribbon.
