At the London Embroidery School, we believe embroidery can be more than just a pretty face. With skills as good as these, it seems a shame to only use them for decorative purposes, so we have collated the classes we think are best suited to repair much loved items and adding to their story in the process.
The new section of our Classes tab brings these classes together so you can pick the best technique for the task. Not every technique will be the right choice for the textile you are trying to repair, but as we have lots of options, we’re confident we have something that could help.
Some of the classes such as Fixing with Florals or Darning, you will not be surprised to see in the DIY repairs section. However other such as Lace Applique or Broderie Anglaise might come as more of a curve ball but their approaches, once mastered could definitely be applied for repair purposes.
