New Class Friday this weeks brings before you the ever useful Darning Online Class. During this hour long video tutorial we will explain how to go about performing this traditional repair method demonstrated on two fabric examples. These approaches can then be transferred to your own item which needs fixing to give new life to tired or over loved items.
Starting with how to pick the right materials and equipment for your project and bringing context to the methods with some fabric theory, you should leave the class with your new repair skills in hand and little less textile being put out into the world. This class does not require any kits as you will be selecting for your specific item so you can start right away with the download. Any equipment items you are missing however can be purchased from the London Embroidery School website and delivered to you at home.
So grab that pile of items for repair that’s been haunting you for a while and lets put this time to good use with a little help from your nimble hands and the London Embroidery School.
If reducing waste and repairing things are your bag, you might like to also check out our Lace Applique (for damage that needs covering up) and Broderie Anglaise classes (making the most of that hole and probably making a few more to go with it) which can both be used as repair methods. See our lace applique stitch along video for some inspiration.
